Different Path offers empathetic, adaptive support for educational shifts, neurodiversity, and alternative learning. We strive to make progress both achievable and empowering for all learners. Whether a young person has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is out of mainstream school, or simply needs a different approach, we build learning around the child — not the other way round.
What We Offer
SEND Support
Specialist support for learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, speech and language needs, anxiety and other SEND profiles — adapted to how each child learns best.
Alternative Provision
Structured, high-quality education for young people who are out of school, on reduced timetables, excluded or at risk of exclusion — keeping learning on track and rebuilding confidence.
Personalised Teaching
One-to-one and small-group teaching in English, maths and wider curriculum subjects, built around each learner's interests, pace and goals.
EHCP-Informed Support
Where a child has an Education, Health and Care Plan, we align our teaching to its outcomes and contribute evidence to annual reviews.
Emotional Wellbeing & Mentoring
Trusted mentoring that supports self-esteem, emotional regulation, resilience and positive relationships — because wellbeing comes before learning.
Children In Care
Trauma-informed, consistent support for looked-after children, working with Virtual Schools, carers and social workers to support PEP targets.
Session structure. Sessions typically run for one to three hours, combining a calm check-in, focused learning tasks, movement or practical breaks, and a short reflection. Timetables are flexible and can build gradually as confidence grows.
Working with schools & local authorities. We work alongside SENCOs, inclusion teams, local authority SEND teams and Virtual Schools to provide commissioned, accountable provision with clear communication throughout.
Progress monitoring. Every learner has clear, measurable targets. We record attendance, engagement and attainment after each session and share regular written reports with families and commissioners.
Safeguarding & qualifications. All staff hold enhanced DBS checks, current safeguarding training and relevant teaching or SEND qualifications. We follow robust safeguarding policies with a designated safeguarding lead.
Delivery locations. Support can take place in the home, in school, at community venues such as libraries, or online — wherever the learner feels safest and most able to engage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need an EHCP? No. We support learners with or without an EHCP or formal diagnosis.
Can schools or local authorities commission you? Yes. We work with schools, local authorities and Virtual Schools, as well as directly with families.
How quickly can support start? Following consultation, we aim to begin sessions as soon as a suitable plan and tutor are in place.
How will we know it's working? You'll receive regular progress updates and formal reviews against agreed targets.
